There is nothing new under the sun. The problem of hazardous waste is not a 20th century phenomenon. The scientists of the 19th century were excited by this problem, and in the 20th century they started to search for practical solution. Hungary is not England, neither Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén county, where the ÓHG (Waste Management Ltd of Ózd) runs. The Ózdi Hulladékgazdálkodási Kft was established in the summer of 2004 to do the waste treatment properly and in high professional standard in Ózd and in its area.
The machines bought from the previous organisation that managed waste collection in Ózd, the technical standard and age of the machines has given us the task to support significant development as soon as possible. From the money partly won from ISPA tender,partly from own financial means, and partly from money given by the European Union we have made significant instrument development. By deliberate tender activity we managed to develop and modernize our park and our landfill. We have made the fuel supply more effective and reliable. We have developed our IT system and our sofwares from the money won by tenders. The waste managemenet is done by a reliable group of 45 experts. Apart from fulfilling the daily duties, our central aim is to collect municipal waste, waste treatment, and selective waste collection on rising standard.
So that instead of using the old waste deposit site we work with a transfer station, that is a junkyard as well. We transport the waste from there and dispose it in modern landfill according to EU norms, in Sajókaza. We have purchased more special vehicles, and we continuously modernize and expand our rubbish bin stock. We have supported our employees to get their sufficient qualification and we provide them trainings as well, so that the modern devices are used safely. We try to make a liveable, cleaner environment by doing our task, and make the villages nicer and more cultural.
Our featured aim is to transform or reform the municipal waste collection and waste treatment, apart from fulfilling the everyday tasks, and to carry out the selective waste collection on high standard in our area.
As a result of these kinds of development, the standard of public service has risen.
Together with my colleagues, our aim is to apply provider character, expand public contacts – we would like to satisfy our customers, save our environment, and make the area of Ózd clear.
